ONE
The XFL announced a set of six showcases slated for June through July of 2022. The league is set to head to the following cities for these showcases:
The locations for each of these six showcases is as follows:
06/17 - Washington, DC - University of Maryland
06/19 - Florida - IMG Academy
06/25 - Hawai’i (INVITE ONLY) - McKinley High School
07/16 - HBCU (INVITE ONLY) - Jackson State University
07/22 - Arizona - Arizona State University
07/24 - Texas - Choctaw Stadium
The league has been busy scouting potential players throughout the country in recent months. With the XFL having hired it’s eight head coaches for the upcoming 2023 season, these showcases are sure to produce top tier talent for these coaches to pick from. XFL Co-Owner Dwayne Johnson had this to say about the upcoming showcases:
"These showcases are an incredible opportunity for passionate players to show up and ball out for a chance to join the XFL."

TWO
The USFL has announced some rule changes ahead as it pertains to the clock ahead of it’s Week 4 games. Head of Officiating Mike Pereira announced that the clock will now run after all incomplete passes in the 1st and 3rd quarters only. The news comes after many games were said to take upwards of three hours to complete in its entirety. Pereira stated in a video posted across the USFL social media pages the following:
“….We believe this change will achieve the desired game length, while still providing the number of plays you’ve come to expect in a professional football game.”
THREE
Two former European League of Football players have signed with NFL teams as part of it’s International Pathway Program. Defensive Back Marcel Dabo and Defensive Lineman Adedayo Odeleye we’re both signed by NFL squads after impressive seasons in the ELF. Dabo will head to the Indianapolis Colts, while Adedayo heads to Houston to join the Texans. Dabo won the ELF’s Rookie of the Year award in 2021. FOUR
Fan Controlled Football has announced it will launch Highlight Pack NFT’s for Season v2.0 in a partnership with eternal.gg. Much like the Ballerz Collective NFT’s launched by the league ahead of this season, these highlight packs will have IRL Utility.
Additionally in the world of FCF, former AAF, USFL, and TSL Quarterback Brandon Silvers has been signed to league and allocated to the Kingpins. It remains unclear whether or not Silvers will get the start against the 3-0 Shoulda Been Stars this Saturday, May 7th, 2022.
Lastly, some season 1.0 veterans are on the move to other professional football leagues this week:
FIVE
A major trade occurred this week in the National Arena League. The Albany Empire have agreed to trade Quarterback Mike Fafaul to the Jacksonville Sharks in exchange for Quarterback Warren Smith Jr. The trade appeared to be finalized last week, but was rescinded at the last second. Inside the Walls Podcast co-host Zack Kielman is also reporting that “Smith will head to Albany in more of a mentor role in a sense”. He’ll serve as the de facto backup to Quarterback Sam Castronova.
