The B.C. Lions have hired Mike Benevides as their new Defensive Coordinator.
The Calgary Stampeders have announced several coaching hires for the 2025 season. Bob Slowik is being promoted to Defensive Coordinator. Craig Dickerson has been brought in as the team’s Special Teams Coordinator. Markus Howell will be the receivers coach. Ucambre Williams will serve as Calgary’s new running backs / assistant offensive line coach. John Bowman will be the defensive line coach, Marcus Klund will be the linebackers coach / run game coordinator, and Barron Miles will serve as the defensive backs coach.
The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have named Brent Monson as their Defensive Coordinator for the 2025 season.
The Ottawa Redblacks have hired William Fields as their new Defensive Coordinator. Fields had previously served as Co-Defensive Coordinator with the Toronto Argonauts last season.
The Saskatchewan Roughriders have announced the hirings of two assistant coaches that will join the 2025 staff. Travis Brown has been hired as the Linebackers Coach. Josh Donnelly will serve as a Offensive Assistant.
Trades
The Montreal Alouettes and Edmonton Elks pulled off a rare “QB-for-QB” trade this week. Montreal traded Quarterback Cody Fajardo to Edmonton in exchange for Quarterback McLeod Bethel-Thompson.

The Alabama Beavers have announced the creation of “The Anderson Cup”, an award given out to the MVP of the 2025 team. The winner will also receive a $1,000 bonus. The Beavers also announced their tentative 2025 mini camp schedule. Lastly for Alabama, the Beavers have also announced that their App will be releasing in January 2025.
The Baltimore Lightning have announced plans to launch the city’s first ever JUCO Football program in conjunction with Baltimore City Community College.
The IFA also announced that former University of Texas Kicker / Punter Daniel Trejo has received an IFA Draft invite.

Arena Football One formally announced its management team for the upcoming 2025 season. Led by Commissioner Jeff Fisher, other key members of AF1 include: Jerry Kurtz as CEO, Jared Widman as President of Business Operations and CSO, Christie McEwen as President of League and Team Operations, and Gary Compton as Director of Football Operations.
The Arizona Bandits have announced that Chad DeGrenier has been named as the team’s Head Coach for the 2025 season. DeGrenier is a former arena football player and high school head coach.
The Wilkes-Barre football team have announced their team name ahead of the 2025 season. They will now be known as the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Mavericks. The news came out via a radio appearance with 98.5 KRZ in Pennsylvania.
The Washington Wolfpack announced that former Wolfpack Kicker Melissa Strother will rejoin the franchise as the team’s Special Teams Coordinator for the 2025 season.
The Oregon Lightning have named Kerren Denae as the team’s Cheer Director for the 2025 season.
